After a summer of liftying, I fell into a job in ski patrol
This continued into summer patrol, which is where I encountered my first true "save" - a cardiac arrest on top of the mountain. By no doing of my own, it was a great success. Circumstances, training, and luck lined up and we were able to deliver this patient alive and conscious to the paramedics at the base.
My experiences as a part of my first crew were transformational.
Me, before I had earned my red jacket.
Second winter.

Gaining confidence and independence.
(Not a real patient, don't worry)
Paramedic school in 2019
Returning as a supervisor
They somehow even let me ride around on one of these bad boys
The experience of this successful cardiac arrest showed me how impactful this field could be, and drove me to consider this field as a career
I started as a paramedic in BC's interior, working in the Kamloops area. 2020 was an interesting time to be a paramedic
After 3 years, I became fully qualified as a Medical Technician
Regularly reminded that our limits are a lot further than we imagine
Around the same time, I joined the army's primary reserve as a Medical Technician.
A simple message that made a big impact.
THE CREW
After my first couple years of university, I found myself aimless.... Luckily, I decided to take a gap "year" to figure myself out
